SonicSyncSail Data Deletion Request

Effective Date: 18 September 2026

1. Overview

This page explains how to clear local SonicSyncSail data and request review or deletion of eligible backend information. Local app data, backend records, Google Play subscriptions, and information controlled by third parties are separate. Legitimate requests will be reviewed and handled according to applicable requirements.

2. SonicSyncSail Does Not Use a Traditional User Account

SonicSyncSail does not provide email/password account creation, username login, a public profile, a visible SonicSyncSail account, or in-app account deletion. Certain backend features use a hidden, pseudonymous Firebase anonymous user identifier (UID). This is a technical installation identity used for SonicSync Pro entitlement, purchase restoration, ProReward, and fraud and security operations—not a conventional user account.

3. Delete Local SonicSyncSail Data

You can normally remove app-private SonicSyncSail data by opening Android Settings, selecting Apps, SonicSyncSail, and Storage, then choosing Clear storage or Clear data. You can also uninstall SonicSyncSail. Exact labels and menu paths vary by Android version and device manufacturer.

This normally removes app-private information such as:

  • The local Room database
  • Local playlists, queues, favorites, and search history
  • Bundled or local radio state, custom stations, and last-played radio state
  • Pulse Editor data and PulseSync state
  • Emotion labels and app preferences
  • Cached artwork and thumbnails
  • Entitlement and ProReward caches
  • Free Pulse-use accounting and other app-private cache data

4. Data Not Removed by Clearing or Uninstalling

  • Original music and video: Media files in public Android MediaStore storage normally remain.
  • Written tags and artwork: Metadata or artwork already written into an original media file remains in that file.
  • Public ringtones: Ringtones saved to public Android MediaStore may remain after uninstalling.
  • Shared copies: Files previously shared with another application, service, or recipient remain under that recipient's control.
  • Backend records: Uninstalling or clearing local data does not automatically delete remote entitlement, reward, billing, security, or operational records.

5. Backend Data Is Separate

Depending on the features you use, backend information may include:

  • Firebase anonymous UID and SonicSync Pro entitlement state
  • Purchase-token records and hashed purchase-token references
  • Subscription state, expiry, verification, and acknowledgement information
  • Subscription lifecycle and voided-purchase information
  • Refund, chargeback, and pending refund-review records
  • ProReward claims and reward transaction records
  • Fraud, security, and other operational records

Raw Google Play purchase tokens are stored server-side for subscription verification and reconciliation. They are not displayed on this page and should not be sent by email.

6. Requesting Backend Data Review or Deletion

Email contact@sonicsyncsail.com with the subject SonicSyncSail Data Deletion Request. State whether your request concerns SonicSync Pro, ProReward Pass, both, or another privacy concern.

For a Google Play purchase-related request, you may provide non-sensitive details such as a Google Play order reference, if available, the approximate purchase date, and relevant purchase context. Additional non-sensitive verification may be requested when necessary to locate the correct pseudonymous backend record.

Do not send payment-card numbers, bank credentials, passwords, Google account passwords, or raw Google Play purchase tokens. Do not provide unrelated sensitive information.

7. Anonymous Identifier and Verification Limitations

Backend records may be pseudonymous. Because SonicSyncSail has no normal email-linked account, an email address alone does not automatically identify the Firebase anonymous UID used by an installation. SonicSyncSail will not delete unrelated records when a requester cannot be reliably matched.

Additional non-sensitive information may be needed. If a record cannot be reliably associated with the requester, deletion may be technically limited. SonicSyncSail does not currently provide an automated backend-deletion or account-deletion feature.

8. Information That May Be Eligible for Deletion

Depending on record status and technical or legal requirements, eligible information may include anonymous entitlement associations, expired reward information, reward claims, installation-linked backend information that is no longer required, and other identifiable backend information no longer needed for active billing or security purposes. Eligibility is assessed for each request; immediate deletion of every record is not guaranteed.

9. Information That May Need to Be Retained

Some records may remain where reasonably necessary for:

  • Active subscription verification and purchase restoration
  • Refunds, chargebacks, pending refund review, and billing disputes
  • Fraud and duplicate-transaction prevention
  • Purchase acknowledgement and subscription reconciliation
  • Security, legal or accounting obligations, and Google Play requirements

Some operational records do not currently have a single fixed automated deletion period. No universal retention duration applies to every subscription, reward, and operational record.

10. Third-Party Data

Some information is independently processed by services such as Google Play, Firebase, Google Mobile Ads, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Google Play Integrity, internet radio providers, and external image or artwork providers. A SonicSyncSail deletion request cannot necessarily delete information independently controlled by those providers. Their own deletion and retention processes apply.

11. Deleting Data Does Not Cancel SonicSync Pro

Uninstalling SonicSyncSail, clearing application data, or submitting a data-deletion request does not automatically cancel SonicSync Pro. Manage or cancel the subscription through Google Play. The SonicSync Pro screen in the app provides a Manage Subscription action for this purpose.

12. Cancelling SonicSync Pro Does Not Delete Data

Cancelling SonicSync Pro does not automatically delete local app data, historical billing records, security records, reconciliation records, or eligible backend data. Subscription cancellation and data deletion are separate processes.

13. Reinstalling SonicSyncSail

Reinstalling SonicSyncSail may create a new Firebase anonymous UID. An active Google Play subscription can be restored or reverified, and the server-side paid entitlement may be associated with the new installation identity.

ProReward behaves differently: it does not currently restore or transfer to a new anonymous UID. Reward access tied to the previous identity may be lost after reinstalling or otherwise receiving a new installation identity.

14. Android Backup and Device Transfer

Android backup or device-transfer systems may restore some app-private data after an app reinstall or device migration. This operating-system behavior is not a SonicSyncSail cloud-backup service.
